If a person is facing depression, no one will recognise the symptoms because they aren’t visible or common like other diseases. In such a situation, it is important for you to talk to someone, for someone to listen to your problems, and let the person understand and help you find a solution. This process is called counselling and the person who listens to solve your problem is called a counsellor.

There are several methods or therapies that are used for counselling depending on the emotional crisis one is going through like behaviour therapy, analytical therapy, humanistic and holistic therapy.

Why counselling therapies are helpful?

In the present world, people are busy in their own lives and can hardly bring out time for their near and dear ones to sit and listen to the problems they are facing.

Under such a situation, one gets burdened and overloaded with all the issues they are going through and undergoes a phase where they feel neglected and get into depression. Now, depression is several times confused with sadness. No, it is not the same.

When a person is sad, they feel the happy moments too but when undergoes a state of depression, nothing around them can make them happy and can result in self-harm. This is when they need to talk to someone and open their heart out about everything they are feeling to make them feel secure and let them know there are people who care about them. This is done by counsellors in a counselling session.
