Sun, Mars, Ketu signifies fire, where as Moon and Venus signifies water and lastly the Mercury signifies earth. According to Vedic Astrology the greater benefic planet is Jupiter, lesser benefic planet is Venus, Moon and Mercury are generally benefic. Among the others Saturn and Rahu are general malefic, Mars and Ketu lesser malefic and the Sun is greater malicious.
